Trebuchet or not Trebuchet

Stumbled across one designer’s rant against the Trebuchet font face’s ubiquity in web page design, Design by Fire: For the greater good of Design, p.1. I can’t say that I share his disdain for the font. I find it interesting though I don’t use it generally for similar reasons as him, I find it hard to read in long copy blocks.
It’s interesting because I was just talking with the girl yesterday about typography in regards to a magazine I browsed at Powells that used a sans-serif font for the body copy. Where’s my typology primer?
